Dear Central Florida Job Seeker,

Last month's Hospitality Career Fair was a huge success! A big thanks to all of you who stopped by. We had over 30 companies set up virtual booths and over 250 jobs were posted. With the many new jobs that were added throughout the month, the opportunity for finding an exciting new position was abundant. All of the employers would like to express their gratitude to those who submitted resumes and applied for positions. OrlandoJobs.com will continue to bring you unique virtual experiences such as the online career fair. We understand the value of making your job search process as simple as clicking your mouse!

Sincerely,
Robin Doering

Five Questions to Ask a Prospective Employer

Many people approach an interview without a real understanding of what they are looking for, and as a result they'll accept a position because it is offered, not because it is the right position.

Selecting the wrong employer can have significant impact on personal stress, future advancement, and attitude. The market typically remains good for those individuals who are patient and willing to wait for the right opportunity. Here are some questions to ask on your interview that will help determine if the company is a good fit for YOU:

  • Can you give me a detailed understanding of what my days might be like? This question will allow you to actually envision yourself in the role. It's also good to ask to be shown specifically where your workspace area would be.
  • What can you tell me about the people I'll be working with most closely? The answer can tell you so many things: How good your potential colleagues really are at their jobs, how much you are likely to learn from them, and most important, whether the hiring manager is enthusiastic about his team.
  • How would you describe your management style? Never underestimate your boss's "style," the corporate culture, and how you will mesh with both.
  • How will we work together to establish objectives and deadlines in the first months of the job? This is a nice way of finding out how much input you will have with your 'could be boss.'
  • How does one succeed or fail at this company? The answer to this question can give you a good sense of the values of the organization and the hiring manager.

Q. How do I delete my current resume and replace it with a new one?

A. For any changes you want to make to your resume, simply log in and go to Edit Resume. You can change your information by typing over the old data and then saving your changes at the bottom of the page. If you had previously copied and pasted a resume, click on the Desired Employment tab and you should see your resume. Paste your new updated information here and Save and Finish.
